It was about 10 years prior to the family’s appearance on the TV show. In the autumn of 2008, Joshua was playing eth backyard of the house and he died in the accident. Kim who was removing fruits from the tress that was in the garden with the help of her car did not realize her son as well as in the garden.

She accidentally hit her own son with the car. She said that she did not realize it until she hit her son and at that time no one was there to witness the accident. The local Sherriff officially said that the incident was just an accident and that Kim did it without realizing it. Kim who hit her child called the ambulance and tried to rescue her child but it was too late. Though Joshua was hospitalized and the team gave their best the child couldn’t be saved and died in the hospital. Joshua was only 17 months old at that time. Kim also wrote on the website of the family how she struggled with depression after her child was dead and that she blamed herself for the death, however, the days passed and she faced the struggles as well.
